Every
year in August scores of children from Moira and the surrounding
villages descend on Moira Baptist Church for a Holiday Bible
Club.
There
was no Club in 2006 due to the building work on the new halls
and this year we are supporting the local Presbyterian Church
in Moira with their Holiday Bible Club. Next year they will
support us.

Programme
1. HOLIDAY BIBLE CLUB VOLUNTEERS
The
Holiday Bible Club is for primary school children
(see below for plans for older children)
Dates : 20th-24th August inclusive
Time
: 6.30-8.00pm
Location
: Moira Presbyterian Church Halls
Theme
: " Amazing Treasures "
(CEF resources with a pirate/desert island theme)
Two
CEF workers are helping to organise the HBC and deliver the
lessons. However we need volunteers to, do memory verses,
do quizzes, supervise,
feed and register the children.
The
club will operate in three grades:
Grade
1: 4-5 year olds
Grade
2: 6-7 year olds
Grade
3: 8-9 year olds
Help
is need across these grades but particularly the 6-8 year
olds.
There is also a dearth of male leaders.
Please
note:
You
do not need experience or strong gifts in relation to children's
ministry. There is a need for reliable adults to simply
be there to help supervise. You do not need to commit to
the entire 5 days. If you are only available for 2 or 3
your help will still be of enormous value.

next workers' meeting for HBC volunteers is on the Monday
25th June @ 8.30pm in the Presbyterian Halls. Please volunteer
even if you can't make this meeting.
2.
HBC LEAFLET DISTRIBUTION
Even
if you cannot attend the HBC you could still greatly add to
its success by helping to advertise it during the leaflet
distribution around the village. This takes place on Tuesday
the 14th August at 7.00pm. Just turn up to Moira Presbyterian
with your walking shoes on!
3.
HBC PRAYER
Please
pray for the children, parents and workers who will be attending
the HBC this year. There are special HBC prayer meetings on
the 13th, 20th and 27th June in the choir room of the Presbyterian
Church from 9.00pm -9.30pm. Please feel free to attend or
drop in after our own midweek. These prayer meetings will
reconvene prior to the HBC on the 1st, 8th and 15th of August.
4.
YOUTH EVENT VOLUNTEERS
It
has no name yet but plans are afoot to run an event alongside
the HBC catering for older kids (11-15yrs).
Date
: Same week as HBC (20th-24th August)
Time
: 8 'til' late (after HBC allows the keenest to help at both!!)
Location
: Moira Baptist Halls
The
programme will involve fun & games, worship, and a short
gospel presentation. The final night will, weather permitting,
be held in the demesne with a BBQ & games.
