Senior Wonder Kidz
Senior Wonder Kidz (SWKidz) is the upper primary section of our Children’s Church programme. Catering for KS2 children (P4-P7), we meet in the portakabin each Sunday during the second half of morning services.
The main programme is taught through themed based journals and games, working in a mix of whole and small groups. Some previous topics have been Diary of a Church Kid, Building God’s Kingdom, Love God Love People, Honesty, and Heroes of the Bible. The 2018/19 theme is International Spy Academy: Operation ‘One True God’. We’ve already had great fun uncovering counterfeits!
A mission focused series called ‘More Than Me’ is taught one Sunday each month, helping us to think outside of the church setting. We remember others parts of the church throughout the world and consider how we can help them. This season we’ve looked at Afghanistan, China and Spain.
‘Bible Basics’ is another series, again taught one Sunday each month, teaching on How To Use Your Bible and Bible themes, characters and historical context. This is mainly taught through games and ‘sword drill’.
We also use a ‘Prayer Room’ format on the 5th Sundays that occur throughout the year. This is an interactive session when the children move around stations that give them prayer prompts and help them learn how and what to pray for.
On the first Sunday of each month, the children remain in church for the full service, and age appropriate ‘Sermon Notes’ booklets are provided for the SWKidz children to use during the teaching time.
